Database Administrator

We are looking for a highly intelligent and analytic individual that loves data and database administration.  As a Database Administrator/ETL Specialist, you will interact with various departments throughout the company, including the development team on performance tuning and database table architecting; the internal data team with developing data infrastructure and/or working within existing Data Marts and the sales team to help onboard new client data the system.  You will also have the opportunity to enhance existing ETL processes, develop new ETL processes while incorporating new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server query performance tuning, utilizing indexes, CTEs, temporal tables, temp/stage tables and partitioning
• Solid understanding of new technology to support proper database architecture and function
• Serve as the point of contact for code developers, helping with SQL table architecture and periodically communicating best practices and follow up as necessary.
• Manage SQL Server backups using SQL Redgate Compare
• Manage SQL Server Agent Jobs
• Audit SQL permissions and production changes
• Sync data from production to QA and Development when needed for testing
• Keep up to date with SQL Server patch releases as well as apply patches to both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Cloud Services databases.
• Manage SQL Server Replication process between SQL databases and severs hosted within Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Cloud Services.
• Perform ETL development within SSIS (Microsoft Visual Studio)
• Set up and maintain FTP access and periodic research and troubleshooting on dependent MySQL database.
• Troubleshoot potential issues across platforms
• Manage and update jobs that scrub personal information from various database tables upon request.
• Perform on-call email rotation to research, troubleshoot and potentially escalate issues.
